This New Tampa home runs on two systems: a 5 ton horizontal unit in the attic and a 4 ton vertical unit in a closet. Both were replaced as one turnkey project. Day one, the crew pulled the old attic air handler, set a new variable-speed air handler on the platform, sealed the new plenum connection with mastic and set the first outdoor unit on a new pad. Day two, the closet system was swapped out and the second outdoor unit went in. Each system got a smart thermostat, an in-duct air purifier, float switches on the condensate, and hurricane tie-downs at the outdoor unit. Both systems were started up and checked on gauges, and the job was permitted through the City of Tampa.
Both systems installed over two consecutive days.
