The supply ductwork in this Ruskin home was old metal duct, and when we opened it up we found mildew inside. Because of that, the crew sealed the work area off with plastic before anything came out, then removed every metal supply run from the attic. The new system uses R6 insulated flex with new boots and grilles, and the oversized metal plenum at the air handler was replaced with a properly built duct board plenum. The existing return was in good shape and was kept. It was a labor-intensive job: one full day of removal and two full days of installation, finished with a full cleanup and a supply temperature check at the grilles.
