The outdoor unit at this Zephyrhills home was rusted, the line set insulation was falling apart, and the attic ductwork was worn out. Rather than drop new equipment onto old ducts, we replaced everything. The crew installed a 2 ton heat pump outside and a new horizontal air handler with 5 kW of backup heat in the attic, set over an emergency pan with float switches. The duct system was redesigned and rebuilt in R6 insulated flex, hung on straps and tied into a rebuilt, sealed plenum. A new thermostat finished the job, the system was started on gauges, and the work was permitted. The homeowner told us the house felt cool for the first time in months.
